I found the book illuminating - I had never heard of the forever gene before this book. Did the author ever give a portion of the proceeds of her book sales back to the family? Has big pharma?

That is AWESOME. Thank you for sharing! Wonder if Big Pharma will follow Rebecca's lead?

And at the end of the afterward she said they have few legal options, so no money from big pharma basically.

Good lord does this need a spotlight. That family deserves a forever license on every drug that resulted from her mother's stolen gene.

She established the Henrietta Lacks Foundation, but I haven't looked at the website yet to see what they do. She also said somewhere in the book that if the book made money she would establish educational scholarships for the Lacks children.
