This book provided some closure for the Lacks Family, by bringing it out into the open, and helping the Lackses get some answers to the questions they had about what happened to their mother and why.
Deborah's cousin helped her close that chapter of hurt and move onto peace.

I think the author really wanted to help Deborah & other members of the Lacks family find some closure. I hope Deborah found some peace. I was so happy she was able to see the cells in person. I'm sure not knowing what happened to her mother & Elsie was difficult, so I hope it helped to learn more.

The lack of closure definitely impacted the willingness of the family to trust the medical profession and seek their own care for generations.

In so many ways. But I also learned so much.
