This is so cool that they're going to be able to completely restore it. When it burned, I had just watched a NOVA doc on the timber roof. 800 year old oak beams. I knew once that was ignited, it was all over. The reconstruction of that roof alone was just amazing.

group scanned and measured that roof timbers and basically created the engineering diagrams for the timbers. The restorers would have been much worse off without those. This is all fascinating to me.
