And I feel similarly about CBS firing her. They never should have hired her and they fucking knew it. They just thought they could get away with it and once they realized the backlash was too much, they reversed course. It's not that they think they were wrong; they just got caught.

Absolutely, but MSNB should have clearly, adamantly, & publicly stated their stance BEFORE she was hired. It feels a little like closing the barn door after the horse was let out & I can't help but feel it's a bit disingenuous to wait until after she was hired & then voice their objections.

From what I have read, the MSNBC and NBC hosts were never consulted about hiring McDaniel. It was a decision made by upper management and was not told to them until after she was already on board.
