Netflix simply does not properly market or support it's shows & focuses on pure volume of content rather than cultivating great shows to give them staying power.

Netflix drops a whole season at once and then immediately begins promoting more new shows. There is no emphasis on these ambitious shows. HBO uses trailers, tie-ins, traditional advertising, and other methods of, you know, MARKETING to give their shows traction.

There is a reason Sopranos, Game of Thrones, Westworld, Succession, & many more became must-watch, must-discuss TV. The Netflix endless content model often dooms good or even great shows to obscurity. If GOT had been on Netflix, it would be a hidden gem rather than the cultural phenomenon it was.

I understand why Benioff & Weiss left HBO for Netflix (the rivalry goes back over a decade) but I would have made a weekly release model rather than a season-drop model part of the deal. We are at content saturation-- shows need staggered release, promotion, & support to build an audience & succeed.
