Anyways, I know the connection is tenuous... a book by a film prof about an art theft which inspired (allegedly) a real theft.

I thought it was interesting, never took the time to look into it, but I thought I would mention it.

Its okay to tl;dr me lol

Very interesting! Again, something cool to check out. This is a very short class, for adults, (tg), so were just watching stuff. But great for a future reference!
We're starting with the doc: Mona Lisa Is Missing.

The Loo Sanction involved a robbery at a museum, maybe the Louvre, I forget

In an footnote on a later novel (Shibumi), Trevanian apologized for not mentioning specifics because the Louvre(?) had been robbed using the technique described in the Loo Sanction. True or apocryphal? I never researched it

One of his books was made into a Clint Eastwood movie (The Eiger Sanction) I think he was writing while teaching Film and TV at U of Texas... the sequel to The Eiger Sanction was the Loo Sanction (not filmed... to my knowledge)

Here is the interesting part... useless or useful, who can tell?

Glad that White Collar may be of use.

Here's an oddity I just thought of, it may take a couple of posts and not be useful at all.

Rodney Whitaker was a film scholar (nonfiction: "The Language of Film") and bestselling author under the pen name of Trevanian. His identity was a well kept secret.

I knew the FBI had art crime specialists because I looked it up while watching this show. You probably already know the show, but here it is just in case you find it of interest or if its useful in your studies,
