Here, I used a photo of the woman in the passenger seat with a photo of Kate Middleton, and Rekognition determined that the woman in the passenger seat and Kate Middleton were not the same person.

I attempted to recreate the conditions of the paparazzi car photo by using a photo of Kate with sunglasses. I made the photo darker and added noise similar to the paparazzi car photo. Rekognition accurately determined that the women were the same person.
