Abortion and reproductive health are not negotiable. The GOP has been for decades trying to nibble around the edges until they could make people not realize the right to abortion would be gone. However, they would have gotten away with it if no for the Dobbs decision.

Once the Dobbs decision came. it was over for the nibbling and trying to be "palatable" to make things seem less extreme. Let me explain. Even as a kid when I didn't know better...there were questions. For example, why would a woman need 72 hours to wait for an abortion?

She's made her mind up for weeks. It also was an agonizing choice to make between herself, and her doctor. Also keep in mind that there's no medical necessity for the 72-hour wait. Also keep in mind they also tried to nickle-and-dime abortion clinics to death.

That is, they were looking for anything to slow down the flow of clients. For example, how big a storage room could be and so-on. That is, many of these places have already been built for purpose. These regs were just to annoy, and to cause clinics to close right then.

Next is the parental notifications. Here's the hard truth...minor girls whom are victims of rape or incest...or messed around and got into trouble are a thing. However, it's HARD in that situation to tell an adult what happened, because they don't know how their parents will react.

This is why the notification laws should not even be a thing. Because privacy is still privacy, even if they are minors. Now, after the Dobbs decision they're trying to put in "Time limits" to get an abortion that's not medically necessary, and to sound "palatable."

There's nothing palatable about these time-limits...nor is there nothing "palatable" about a woman dying because a major medical incident has lead to a her, or the baby decision. Nor is it "palatable" to have a woman be permanently sterilized because she couldn't get care in time.

This is why these goons will lose in 2024 and beyond. People not only know their game, but are going to make sure they are stamped out. We got work to do to restore abortions nationwide, and to protect contraception.
