Heard. Like I was aware the things in the house were shaking, but I didn’t feel like I was shaking.

Here in California I often hear a big sound with earthquakes- that is why I asked. Folks also talk about
“was the earthquake rolling or simply a big jolt.”. We don’t talk about the associated sounds as much.

Interesting. My bf was upstairs and is shocked that I didn't "feel" the shaking lol.

I just learned that east and west coast earthquakes travel differently. The east coast rock is more homogenous, so travels further than in the complexity of the terrain out west. I'm pretty fascinated by this.
