An Israeli strike last night on the Iranian embassy in Syria also damaged the Canadian embassy, which is next door. The embassy has not been in operation since 2012 due to the civil war in Syria,

but is still Canadian property and could be used by Canadian officials who visit Syria. It's unclear whether the government of Israel warned Canada or checked to ensure there were no Canadians present.

Something tells me the Canadians weren't warned, just in case they might have warned their Syrian counterparts. Besides, civilian casualties are obviously not a concern of Netanyahu et al....

I'd prefer not to speculate without evidence, given how high tensions are and how much misinformation is flying around.

If Canada was not warned, however, then it was at least a dangerous and disrespectful act toward an ostensibly allied country.
