I know this may be a bit radical, but why are ANY laws instituted before universal suffrage still considered legal today? Scrap them all and start over. Laws put in place when only white landowning men could vote are illegitimate. ✌️

Time to rewrite the Constitution, then? That could get awfully tricky, depending on who is invited to the convention and how it is ratified.

You could make the same argument about the Constitution. Though I'm strongly in favor of replacing it with a new Constitution that considers all people to be 5/5ths human.

That's what the amendments are for. I think we can all agree that the original Constitution was illegitimate, allowing slavery, considering Black folx less than human, and offering no rights to women. 😒
