Serious question for my teachers of Spoutible.....

My university is prohibiting me from re-taking student teaching after being wrongfully terminated this semester.

They are insisting that I can't take the class until 1 full year later.

WHAT CAN I DO?? I'm now ineligible for jobs 🤬🔥💔

Have you checked into private schools? They don't pay great, but they don't often require certified teachers. Or you can look at YMCA or Park & Recs jobs for kids programming jobs. You could do that for a yr until you can return.

What is your degree? Education or subject matter with teacher cert?

Currently I'm subbing in all ages and my Master will be LBS1 (special education) I'm still trying to decide which age to work with! Ugh. I love little kids but I love the high school kids too!!! Different reasons:
Little: I can provide them good foundational support!
Big: maybe the last shot to help

I was in a similar situation but was able to finish with a C. Prof told me to find another profession. After I volunteered with Mennonites 3 years as a reading teacher, I easily got a paid teaching job. Ten years after that I won district teacher of the year.

Choices:
Substitute for the year. They desperately need subs and it will be difficult but you’ll find out where your niche is or if teaching is for you.
Be a teacher’s aide.
Become a volunteer teacher with Mennonites or Vista, etc.
Sub and do temp work.
These will help build resume & skills.
