Are you a #PSLF program recipient? $60K of my #studentloans were forgiven due to President Biden getting the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program back on track. POTUS is asking PSLF recipients like me to share our stories here: https://track.mail.student...

Congrats! 🎉 sadly I don’t qualify as I don’t work in public service.
I work as a substitute teacher (though I hold a M.Ed in Higher education. I’m praying and hoping Biden and the administration continue to try to assist ppl in my situation

Thank you! If I may pry, do you substitute for public schools? Is it a FT job? I think most sub jobs are PT or contract, but if you work FT for a public school or a not for profit school, you qualify for the PSLFP. If not, you might still qualify for some of the forgiveness programs for teachers.

Blessed day to you. :)
I substitute teach part time (limited opportunities to use my M.Ed in Higher Ed). But I digress. Unfortunately, I’ve applied for the program & I don’t meet the requirements. I don’t work for a non profit either. I’m Hoping! & praying.

Thank you! Lovely day to you as well. I hope POTUS is able to provide student loan forgiveness to more people soon. It's crazy how tuitions have risen just in the last 20 years.

When I hear the amount some ppl owe in student loan- my face contorts and I cringe.
😬 it’s ridiculous. I just feel like ppl who work in education period, deserves a break and loans forgiven.
It’s challenging work & many ppl wouldn’t don’t. I get it- I’m just saying .

I agree. Many who owe $100K or more go into professions that would allow them to pay the loans back relatively easily--law, medicine, engineering--but teachers aren't paid anywhere near that and administrators are paid even less when you compare how much education schools want you to have.

Good afternoon. So here’s an update. My loan is now being serviced by Moehla (sp) & the rep explained to me what no one else has ever done. I can qualify as a sub if ten yrs and or I might even get a break through the Save program. I wanted to log on ☺️and tell you this #Faith

That's awesome! So happy for you! And 'm so sorry I didn't think to mention the SAVE program to you. Some people actually have a $0/month payment, and it was explained to me that for people signed up for the PSLF program, those $0 "payments" count towards the requisite 10 years of payments.

I dont want to go in deferment is what I meant.. as for the $0 a month option. I think also, the payments I’ve re paid now will count toward credit (can’t explain it like she did but I think you know what I meant). Lol you seem to know it better than me.

Ok- I re read your reply and Wow. I didn’t know that about the $0 a month payment. Right now. I’m waiting on Moehla to let me know (they’re in the process of these changes) when and what date to make another payment. Seems they’re in the process of transitioning right now. With the law changes
