I recently Googled "hobbies for the blind" and some foolish fecker actually suggested drying dishes as a good hobby for blind folks.

*I asked for hobbies, not chores ya big ):|3

Geez, folks are really still out here infantalizing blind folks? I would think something like learning an instrument would be more fulfilling.

Too true. Another suggestion was folding laundry. It felt sorta like "go get a super tedious job ya slacker" and allow us to pay you subminimum wages while you're being a productive member of society. No fun allowed, apparently.

Folding laundry is a classic activity to keep dementia patients engaged. 🙄

In the case of advanced dementia, folding laundry has merit because it's a deeply ingrained skill that practices motor control. But not for blind folx, who don't need busy work.

That's an aspect I hadn't considered for dementia patients and I suppose it make sense. I'm still able to fold laundry, put dishes away and quite a few other things. I was more looking for suggestions for hobbies of an artistic nature, tho. I got kinda mad and closed that tab quickly.
