While living in NYC, I used to fly home to see my parents a few times a year. Once I got 3 dogs, there was no way they were going to fly cargo, so I bought a car & paid about $1000/mo to park it in a garage to keep it safe until needed. I get this person's motive. The things we do for our pets...

Relatable. As an airline corporate employee for most of my adult life, I will never have my pets in cargo. I've had to talk to people who've had... uh, "less than stellar experiences". A few were absolutely heartbreaking.

The staff does their best to care for your pets, but there are too many risks

I'm sure they try their best, but I just can't imagine it would be a pleasant experience for any pet having to be in cargo. It must be scary!
