And maybe she's not religious, so swearing in on a book that actually means something to her guarantees her dedication to the job more than an empty oath to a fiction she doesn't believe. Swearing on an bible would mean nothing to me, in a case where you wanted an oath.

I'm sorry. It's a book means just that, it's a book. The same as the Bible is a book.

It's her character that her oath is based on, not a book.
I agree with you. Her choice of book was personal.
I like her choice. It has meaning.
Some would say, it shows a way.
