So, turns out the reason the toilet and the tub back flowing last night was a “roots in the sewer lines” issue. The local company we use for plumbing issues was able to make it out this afternoon and rectified the problem for a mere $560. 24 years in the house and 1st time we’ve had this issue. 👍🏻

I lived in a house where once a year the owner brought over something to flush down the toilet to help keep roots out of the pipes. They had a similar issue to yours.

Yikes! Do they completely fix the issue?

Once roots are there, it’s a maintenance issue. They figure every 1-1/2 to 2 years. I’m good with that.

Once they find their way in, the roots grow back... Will need to keep up with cleaning... Based on our experience with a similar issue. Which reminds me to schedule a late spring cleaning.

Yep. They recommended having them back every 1-1/2 to 2 years.
