A lot of #tense stuff going on in my Spanish 2 class right now. I alternate between "Wow, lots of things I haven't been understanding in the more-immersion-centric Duolingo are really clicking for me, I can do all this!" & "Wow, how am I ever going to be fluent in conversation?"

I taught Spanish for 40 years and still remember beginning to study the preterit/imperfect with a grad student fresh over from Madrid who had to stop and think why it was one or the other. She knew automatically. Good for you for using both immersion and a textbook!

I got to that part in Duolingo and ended up buying a used Spanish lesson book. That helped some but so many grammar things to remember.

I can read Spanish some but constructing sentences is very difficult. If I ever have to actually speak it, it will be at a toddler level.
