There largest supermarket chain in NJ collects for the Community Food Bank of NJ. Problem: the Community Food Bank of NJ may not be the food bank servicing the town a store is in. Took them to task on FB and ran my mouth the to the town food bank. Now the donations go to the town food bank.

I read somewhere recently, the donations that stores ask for when you’re checking out are so they can make big donations but not really foot the bill. They put the onus on the customers who are often already paying exuberant prices. I stopped, even with loose change. I donate to causes not companies

Thats pretty cool. We get asked at ACME, Giant and even the Pet Smart. It seems as if they are legit asks, but its also possible the money isn’t going where its supposed to. My issue is also that the company gets away with donating money that wasn't really theirs, like its a tax break im paying for

If they collected AND matched it, I'd be almost impressed.
