The losses and testimonies were soul crushing but what stuck out was the loss of belief in our shared humanity. Hearing how alone they felt in this struggle. How powerless.

Listening to them be expected to prove their right to exist while asking our congress for a ceasefire only to be turned away with deaf ears and closed hearts is despicable. Our representatives and leaders must do better.

Any loss of human life is tragic but to hear on a grand scale the stories of entire family lines wiped out and to see pictures of their smiling faces with their families paints a different picture of the geneocide our country is funding.

I encourage once more for each and everyone of you to be brave and stand on the side of peace. There can be a resolve to this, but it will not happen with bombs and guns.

It will happen with listening ears, open hearts, and a commitment to our humanity so that all people may feel safe and welcomed on this planet. Be brave.
