When I think of private school vouchers, the first thing that comes to mind is “privatize for a profit”. Not everyone gets to play. Only those who are the popular kids, aka friends of politicians. Don’t forget religiosity too. Christian private schools.

So true. The voucher won’t cover the whole cost for low-income parents. And does the school offer school buses? Probably not, so transportation can be a big issue. Do they offer SPED? Probably not, at least if they are “religious” schools, which are example from the ADA.

School vouchers, by any name, leave rural America behind.

Private school vouchers also have the "benefit" of killing the teachers union. After Katrina drowned New Orleans, mission one wasn't rebuilding an iconic American city but rather, destroying the public school system. A money grab like a motherfucker.
