I would like to add to this. If you can respect someone and call them by their preferred names, you can respect someone's new gender pronouns. ❤️

Their identity is their identity. Whether it's name or gender, it's how they see themselves. It's not anyone's job to change their identity but them.

Completely on point. University professor here. Beginning of semester students would often approach and ask me to call them by a
preferred name not on roster. It could be a middle name, a nickname, a name instead of dead name, etc. Didn’t matter. Easy-peasy.. Preferred pronouns also easy.
