Excellent! Thank you, Deb! We have a DonJon branch company in our bay that builds barges and repairs the 1000 ft ships on the Great Lakes. 😊😊

I see you're on Lake Erie too. I'm on the north shore. My folks still live at Port Stanley and I'm a little north at London. When I was a kid it was a big deal to welcome the ships to the harbour. We lived on a hill so we always had binoculars to watch the ships come in.

Before passports, we used to travel to Ontario all the time. Friends to Lake Simcoe for ice fishing and we would go to Lake Nippising beginning of May. London was sister city to Erie. We see lights from Long Point across the lake at night.❤️ We feel close to our Canadian neighbors.

Seems to me that you can now use your enhanced drivers license to cross the border instead of a passport. Here's the website:

My parents wrote a monthly magazine for 35 years about the commercial fishing industry on the Great Lakes. On each school holiday we travelled to US & Cdn fishing ports on all five Great Lakes to interview fishermen and their families. I remember Erie fondly. The Munch family were fishermen there.
