I don't like Mike Johnson. I don't trust Mike Johnson. I certainly don't agree with his conservative religious views. But I do have to give him some (one time only) respect for standing up to his colleagues and doing what's right, even at the risk of his job. I'll go back to hating him later...

Johnson was a right-wing honk until he got promoted to Speaker and began receiving highest-level security briefings. On a dime, he switched positions on Ukraine from obstructionist to pragmatist. Johnson finally gets that it's not at all about stupid American red-blue politics. Shit's real.

You know it's bad when our compliment is "he's downright awful, but maybe not as awful as we first thought, but still downright awful"

Johnson didn't want to go down in history as being the catalyst for starting WWIII?

He did say that Putin wasn't going to stop at Ukraine. He said Putin might go into Poland, which would draw NATO into the war, so you're absolutely correct!

NO.

Appreciate what he did in terms of doing the right thing for the wrong reason, sure. But no respect for that coward...now or ever.

Oh I completely understand where you're coming from because he represents everything I despise, but at least now, we're not leaving Ukraine hanging in the wind
