Looks like Mike Johnson is flirting with disaster as far as holding on to his Speakership goes. I applaud him for it. Still think he's a terrible Speaker, but you gotta give credit where credit is due.

Any thoughts on why Mikey changed his attitude about Ukraine? Glad he did - but wonder who influenced him. Or perhaps it was the nightmares.

I tend to go for the pathetic but plausible explanations on these things. He wants to have a career after being a failed Speaker. As I said, he likely knows he's on his way out and so loses nothing but doing the bare minimum. That CAN be enough to convince some that he's "seen the light".

I've seen just an inkling of a motive in the past few days...the real Christian zealots want to be in control of the new authoritarianism, so they're moving to seize power from the religious fakers.
