We also need to talk about the conduct of medical professionals.

Yes, they're afraid of being prosecuted. But at the end of the day, they're turning away patients in urgent need of care.

What we're seeing is how many health care professionals choose "just following orders" over "first, do no harm"

Now take that further.

They'll comply with these laws to the detriment, even death, of patients. What about if the law says to forcibly de-transition a trans person? Deny gay or poor people health care? Help torture dissidents? Euthanize a person with disabilities?

There is a Federal law that everyone who shows up at an emergency room in need of care must be treated.
1986 Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act.
The Supremacy clause should be their CYA in any state court.
SCOTUS might find it easier to decide than whether ex-POTUS is forever above the law.
