As much of a botany freak as I've been at times over the years, that may be a first - I don't think I've ever seen an aloe, growing in the wild, with a bloom. I've had a couple of succulents I've grown in the house and had them bloom, but never had an aloe or seen it bloom. Thank you!

Here in Florida a lot of people have aloe planted outside in the ground and they bloom regularly. The hummingbirds love those aloe blooms.

I'd imagine - they love red. We have a couple of hummingbird feeders, they're always red to some degree. Will be moving to the SW in the not-too-distant, into a hummingbird migration route - might try aloe, though it might be too dry for aloe, don't know.
