That is the salient point missed in most of this discussion. Those who benefit from this "forgiveness" already paid enough to wipe the principal with a healthy chunk of interest. Every new payment is just gravy. Gravy, that winds up in the hands of the wealthy through tax cuts they don't need.

The reality is that the original loan was paid back, it's the interest that's been firgiven.talking about wiping out a loan sounds as if the borrower is getting a handout, ir is just incompetent. The interest is being forgiven.

As someone who is still paying ParentPlus loans I read everything I see on student loan forgiveness. This is the first time I've seen it explained this way. C'mon DNC explain the numbers while you tout student loan forgiveness. These nuggets of information are powerful and matter.
