"Civil War" is a brutal, intense, and brilliant film. If you've read anything about it, you know that Alex Garland's intent wasn't to make it about politics; that's why he kept it vague (California and Texas are on the same side, go figure).

Instead, it's about journalism and what covering wars can do to one's psyche. (See the documentary, "20 Days in Mariupol.") However, it is a dark harbinger of what awaits America if we don't get off the road we're on.
