Don’t ask me, I read it a long time ago. And TBH it is a pretty disturbing book for a teenager. The parts about obsessive , possessive love and lust. I’m not saying ban it but I get why it’s upsetting to some for a teenager .

I don't know, rn my students are reading Macbeth. They've already dealt with the bloody dagger used to kill the king, the murder and attempted murder of his best friend and son, and the bloody ghost. Next scene is the massacre of a family. Meanwhile, juniors are reading about a racist wife-beating

I voted with the (current) majority: two weeks. Is there any way to estimate (not for this, just generally) how many pages an average reader would get through in, say, an hour? That could help gauge for each book about how much of a time commitment it is.

I've seen ranges from about 30-60 pages an hour for slow, average, and fast readers. I've also seen estimates listed in words per minute (e.g. 150, 300, 450 WPM).
400 page books are often around 11-12 hours in audio. 720 minutes / 60 minutes a day = 12 days. I selected the two weeks option above.
