It's a great word! Pretty versatile, too, depending on the context. 😁

I hear it used sometimes where I live [SF mid-peninsula] (mostly by people for whom Spanish is their 1st language - it's my 2nd language), but rarely elsewhere.

That's why I'm tickled to see you use it in a Spout. 👏

I lived in Santa Barbara for 4 years. I worked with a largely Spanish speaking population. I understand more than I speak. But I heard that word a lot. I picked up a lot of Spanish from context. ☺️
