I still have my original #Earth Day pin from
the very 1st #EarthDay in 1970.

I started high school that year
and was able to take classes in
Ecology and Environmental Studies.

[The 1970s was our last progressive era.
I don't think young people realize it.]

Those who voted for Nixon in 1972 did not think he was a bad president. I believed for decades that my Republican friends were fully aware Nixon was a criminal slimebag, but nay. They have remained true to the Republican Party of Nixon in 1972.

There was no one fooled in my Democratic household. My Dad had zero respect for "Tricky Dick."

Dad was a newspaperman so we followed Watergate fiercely, and celebrated Nixon's resignation.

We also cursed Gerald Ford for the pardon that robbed us of the legal precedent that we need right nw.

Same here. My folks agonized over the decision whether or not to vote for a guy they knew and liked personally who was running for a low-level judge slot, because they knew he was a Republican. I still don't know to this day if they voted for him or not.
