I'm not criticizing Bidenomics, just one of the measuring sticks we use. Whenever I see job creation statistics, I think of an Onion classic from long ago.

Well, a shitty job may be better than no job, especially if one is an immigrant and US folks won’t take those jobs. It’s a windfall if you come from a place where nepotism rules or there simply are no jobs. Draw the circle wide. Wider still.

Yes, and just the vernacular 'shitty job' or 'unskilled labor' informs the perception of the people who work said jobs. Besides, shitty job or no, without burger-flippers there's no McD's.

Perhaps we should call them 'foundational workers' or similar.

Such good points Keith. Nomenclature needs reworking for the current understandings of people, places and things. Foundational workers . I am drawn to that to help deal with our top-down thinking. No good foundation, what’s built on it is at threat of toppling over. Takes a village.
