REMINDER: Should the Supreme Court rule that blanket presidential immunity exists, it applies IMMEDIATELY to the current sitting president, Joe Biden, who can use his newly granted power to do whatever he wants including canceling elections and jailing his rivals.

His actions were unconstitutional as they were not explicitly authorized by an act of Congress should be the same conclusion today as it was in 1952 against Harry S Truman. America was not founded upon having dictatorships.

You have missed my point. Do not fixate on Donald Trump. This is about the powers of the presidency. If SCOTUS determines blanket immunity exists, the CURRENT officeholder wields the power to rule with impunity. SCOTUS decisions have no time clock. Such a decision confers new powers to this POTUS.

1952; ‘supreme Court ruled that President Harry S. Truman had overstepped his authority by seizing private property without congressional approval, emphasizing that no president has the immunity to act beyond the bounds of the Constitution.’

The impact of this decision demolishes the norms and boundaries we rely on, including the checks and balances of our tripartite gov't. Anything a president does would be legal, hence there would be no need for any other structures because there would be no consequences.

I hope SCOTUS recognizes the depth breadth and length of the effects of their decision. If not, Biden should not be shy about exercising his newly-minted prerogatives.
