Yesterday, I received an email through my blog that said my opinions on music were invalid because I "incorrectly" call those round, mostly black things that play music on turntables records. To me, "vinyl" is just the new "woke" term for "records" which is what they really are.

Their opinion is invalid to me due to elitist, know-it-all, attitudes. They will likely also want to tell you what the "good" music is and why yours is not so.

Agree! I used to go to the record store, not the vinyl store.

Your opinions can be made valid again by clicking your heels together three times and repeating, "They're called stacks of wax, they're called stacks of wax...".

Records. Platters. LPs. Stay gold, Ponyboy.

I remember a time when they were called LPs, vs 45s and 78s. And the little widget you needed to play a 45. The concept of an A side and a B side. The idea of using an album to tell a story. Vinyl is too small a word for all of that.
