Geek squad at best buy told me the security in windows 11 is enough and you don't need to buy additional antivirus. Now I have doubts 🤔

They should not have said that. Windows is constantly being attacked simply because it has huge market share. Most hacks are not successful, but if there is a security hole, it will be found eventually. Always always have a good anti-virus no matter what OS you use.

Thank you. Hard to know what to trust.
Do you have any suggestions and or preferences for antivirus to use or not use?
I got a virus with webroot and the free version of avast in the past.

I used McAfee when I used Windows (I moved to Linux when 11 came out). There are some free ones out there that are okay. Norton is also good if a bit slow at times.

I stuck with McAfee cuz it did the job and they have discounts all the time.

I have McAfee now because it came with my PC and I renewed it because it seems to always screw something up when you change. I thought McAfee had a bad reputation but I think that was years ago.
Thanks so much for the info!!

Yeah they screwed up something several years ago. Then Norton kinda went forward. McAfee got better and even managed to contract with some defense companies. I figure if the military peeps approve, it's gotta be at least decent. 😁
