In 8 days it will be 54 years since National Guard killed students protesting the US military entering Cambodia. . Administrators don't deal well with opposition. Armed enforcers do even worse. Life cycles back. Let's hope no students die this time.

I remember that day clearly. It was horrifying. Three cousins on the Kent Campus and we didn't hear from them until late that night. It was chaos, fear, and anger. And not just at Kent. At all Ohio schools - from HS to Universities.

No cell phones back then. I'm sure the scramble for pay phones and the right change was awful.. I was in Thailand then, not far from the Cambodia border, training new Peace Corps volunteers. Some wanted to return, but we convinced them they were much closer to the action in Thailand.
