I found the first line of that quote interesting (repro'd in full below).

I just recently learned that women diagnosed with cancer are warned by health care providers not to rely solely or largely on a male partner for support and care because they're 6x more likely to leave after the diagnosis.

From personal experience, I know chronic health issues also affect marriages.

The funny part? Divorce made me so much healthier! Addison's is exacerbated by stress, both physical and emotional.

Within 2 years, I was no longer hospitalized 4-5 times a year, just 1-2 times. Within 10 years, it was years between incidents. I haven't been in a single time since 2008.
