Canada has many unique roadside attractions, and I am looking at the history of many of them.

Today, it is the world's largest axe in Nackawic, New Brunswick!

Nackawic-Millville, New Brunswick has a long history in forestry.

Due to that history, it was named the Forestry Capital of Canada in 1991.

That same year, the world's largest axe was unveiled to commemorate that designation and be a monument to the forestry industry of New Brunswick.

The axe was designed and built by the B.E.D. Canada Ltd.

The axe is located next to the Saint John River, where the Big Axe Craft Beer Festival is held each year. The stump that the axe is located on also serves as a stage for musical performances.

A time capsule was also placed in the head of the axe and will be opened sometime in the future.
