I'm sorry clothes detergent companies...I will *never* believe that my clothes will get just as clean in cold water with your detergent. Sure, I wash some delicates in cold water, but not my regular loads. Nope.

We’ve always washed in cold only, no special detergent, with lovely clean clothes that last 3x as long because of hot water fading. You just have to launder properly.

Hot water washing is a lie.

We’re always more comfortable with what we know, but my experience is hot water just wears through clothes. You don’t need cold water soap though.

(You also don’t need special tea bags for ice tea/sun tea - but they’ll still sell you the fancy box).

Plus energy usage. And most hot water cycles run it about 130°, almost 20° below what’s needed to kill bacteria. Which is why dishwashers have a rinse cycle that’s higher temperature.

But again, we 100% do this thing how we’re taught. My grandmother was strictly cold wash.
