Comedians are having a hard time with people realizing that a lot of humor is based on racism, sexism, homophobia etc. There will always be context, perspective and subtlety re what is funny. Asking them to put some more thought into their appeal appears to be a bridge too far.

Well said… they don’ t like being held accountable when their humor is at the expense of marginalized groups. Seinfeld should do better (Mr.“I don’t resort to cussing to get a laugh”) but in spite of his talent he’s the epitome of a tone deaf cis-het white guy…. Go buy another vintage Porsche Jer,

I’m old enough to have caught the tail end of “Polack jokes” being a thing for many successful comedians. Audience tastes and tolerances evolve. Fortunately.
