What I mean when I say that "men" is a social construct is that the idea of what a man is only exists in a collective sense of what is agreed upon and accepted by society. For example, right-wing bigots do not believe transgender men to be "real men."

But they are men for people that aren't hateful assholes. The same goes for what a "woman" is. Some people have a strict sense of what a woman should look and sound like, for example.

As such, since "men" and "women" (and race) don't actually exist but are only concepts - we can say that "men are dangerous" without specifying that we don't literaly mean every single one of them.

Because we're talking about what society believes "men" to exist as, and what traits belong to them. For example, showing emotion has traditionally been thought of as a women's trait. Men are taught to express anger and not much else.

Men are taught from an early age to dominate spaces and be the leader. Think about all of the bullshit about "alphas."

So, society breeds men that all have the potential in them to be dangerous - as a generalization, because society imbues men with a potentially toxic mix of characteristics - that, with a person of low character, can be deadly.

As such, we can say men are predators without having to say "but not you" because we're talking about a concept that is malleable. Men don't have to be predators. If society raised them differently and actually punished them when they hurt women, things would be different.
