Your period is late, but it's irregular so you think nothing of it. A week later it still hasn't come & you wonder, could I be pregnant? The next day you take a test. Pregnant. You now have 6 days to make the decision, get the appointment, the funds, the time off work.

You have 6 days. Not 6 weeks.

Florida's six week abortion ban starts today, so women and girls on the entire southeast coast will no longer have access to abortion services, and the ban correlates with the Republican plan to illegally throw children off their healthcare plans.

When a girls menstrual cycle first begins, her period can skip months. So, young girls are especially vulnerable.

I still am typically two weeks "late" and then have a long cycle. So many of us fall outside of the typical. It is asinine to think six weeks gives the woman plenty of time to deal with the pregnancy.
