When we moved here, my MIL's clematis vine was not doing well at all. Moved it to a different spot and I think she likes her new home. #flowers

They are not usually picky but have found they do better in sun but have to have their feet shaded. I put some low-growing sedum around the base of the vine.

To me they’re tricky. Extremely fragile, but always manage to come back. Last year the one on the right was as big as the left. Literally overnight something killed it. #flowers

It’s making a comeback though..as usual.😊

Gorgeous! For some reason, never had too much trouble if in the right spot. I've found that if you cover their "feet" with a groundcover they seem to do better. I use a low-growing sedum that's a perennial.
