Just met Polemonium caeruleum (Jacob’s ladder) for the first time in my life. Seems to have been planted in a wildflower seed mix at a university campus I’m visiting. Anyone know anything about this species that they can tell me?

Just checked: there are more than 30 different species of Polemonium, some of them indigenous to America. Most likely it is one of those that is shown in your pic, not the European one.

it is found from middle Europe to Siberia in chalk-rich wet meadows, carrs and swamps. It´s not that frequent, in fact its quite rare and I only encountered it once or twice in the eastern part of Bavaria.
