I think privileged people are often jarred when someone calls out their privilege because being privileged allows you to live in a guilt-free bubble.

Privilege tells you that everything you do is right. You aren't the problem and neither are your actions.

When someone comes along to rightfully burst that bubble, privileged people become upset. Privilege also allows you to center yourself. So, instead of reflecting on the criticism, privileged people center themselves as the victim.

This is ironic because privilege lies and tells you that privileged people are the only victims while everyone else is getting their just due. Privilege tells you that you can never be wrong and that everyone else can never be right.

Some privileged people are willfully obtuse. They know the system and play it well. They trust the system will always work for their benefit because that's how it was created.

Others are a sad byproduct of a failed educational system and stunted growth, which is also a system feature.

Both hate when someone calls them out. How dare someone be bold enough to tell a privileged person the truth?

Oh, most privileged people aren't going to do anything about it. They may virtue signal, but their core values remain the same.

Some of the more sinister, privileged ones will make you pay for what they see as their discomfort.

They say they'll vote one way but vote in their best interest. They say they'll refer you for a job but blackball you. And so on and on.

If you want to change, like really change, you've got to stop having knee-jerk reactions when faced with information that conflicts with your privileged system.

In fact, you need to defrag the system. Do an overhaul. It's long overdue.
