"It took seven years and stacks of gold to train each, and there they lie, so much kite's meat."

From The Scarlet Citadel by Robert E. Howard.

What the flip is "kite's meat"?

Anyone know?

a kite is a large scaveger bird, much like the vulture. depending on where you live, you can sometimes see them (vultures, not kites) handing out around road kill. I just googled and they also eat living animals.

Awesome! Thank you.

So, same question I asked @KfoxdenKY , who also replied: This is for a podcast episode next week. Any issues with me using your name in the episode so I can thank you?
