Since some folks appear to feel that all pro-Palestinian protests are automatically "terrorism" (and I do wonder if they would apply that label so broadly if these protesters weren't identifying with support for a mainly Muslim people), here is an actual definition of terrorism:

Oxford Languages, via Google:

"the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims"

THAT is terrorism. There's some ambiguity/subjectivity in how you determine what is "intimidation".

Different jurisdictions also have their own specific laws.

But broadly, "terrorism" is violence or threats to cause fear for ideological purposes.

Random violent crime with no ideological motive is not terrorism. Protesters trespassing, or even destroying property or being bigots is not terrorism

Just because a protest isn't terrorism doesn't mean it's right, that you have to agree with it, that the methods are effective, or that the protesters aren't being mislead.

But it's deeply disturbing to me to see people, even "liberals"/Democrats, throwing around "terrorism" like it's October 2001.

It hearkens back to the very worst of the post-911 Bush era, the "You're with us or you're with the terrorists" sentiment that fuelled our uncritical plunge into Iraq, Guantanamo, and racial profiling. Or the wave of Islamophobia in the early 2010s leading up to Trump's election, and the Muslim ban.
