📢 The bible can be your guide but not my shackle.

Today, it is abortion; tomorrow, it is an attack on birth control, interracial and LGBTQIA marriages, and more.

There is very little information about any of these issues in it. It is a twisted 17th century interpretation of several 8th century translations that are all different, made from a few poor 4th century copies of what may or may not have been written by apostles. Word of God? Pfffft. It's a guide.

This is the word of people who didn’t know where the sun went at night. They can miss me with that Bronze Age mythology.
If people get comfort from religion, good for them, just don’t expect the rest of us to believe in it too.

I agree entirely. Although I attend church services and apply what is supposedly the teachings of Jesus to my own life, I think a lot of the Bible is just stories intended to scare people into some sort of moral behavior. It's wrong to shove that down people's throats.

I understand. I was sent to Sunday school when I was young. Learned that being a decent person made a better life, without the promise of heaven or the threat of hell.
Just makes sense.
I never really thought about it until others try to force their beliefs on me. That’s when we have a problem. 😁
