AI is sucking up vast amounts of electricity _and_ precious fresh water. Some experts estimate that every prompt uses/wastes between 1/2 oz to 16 oz of fresh water.

Is that really so bad?

Well, consider that ChatGPT is being tied into the background functionality of *every* Microsoft product which means it could basically ALWAYS BE ON.
And that's just the implementation of one AI.

Eeep!

(side note: Don't think I want to try an AI produced recipe.)

I do not know of a direct comparison between the technologies. Hopefully someone else here can help out. In the meantime, I'll do some more digging.

But that's an excellent question.
